Commonly known among locals as Prachin Shiv Mandir, Jaskot (प्राचीन शिव मंदिर, जसकोट) is a picturesque temple located in hill town of Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh. Temple is located at a distance of approx seven kilometers from district headquarter of Hamirpur on the Hamirpur - Dharmshala road. Temple falls under the Panchayat Jol-Sappar (जोल सपड) in the village Jaskot (जसकोट).
This temple history belongs to the Mahabarata time and it is said that the Pandavas established and worshiped the Shiva-Linga here and thereafter it took around a decade to built the temple. There is a very beautiful lake near the temple and this lake fulfills the demand of water supply of two nearby villages. There are many beautiful fish of different colors in the lake. You can see devotees feeding the fish and offering atta etc to the fish.
Temple is well maintained by the temple committee and there are facilities like kitchen and shelter for the visitors. Every year during Mahashivratri a grand bhandara is organised and people gather here hi huge numbers on the occasion.
