Sri Lakshman Temple in Nashik - Place where Shrupnakha's nose was cut

The video above is of Lakshman ji temple in Nashik, Maharashtra. This is one of the few temples dedicated to lord Lakshman, younger brother of Lord Rama, who went with Rama and Sita to exile of 14 years.

Lakshmana is the incarnation of lord Seshnag. The importance to this temple in Naskhil is that this is the same place where Lakshman ji cut the nose of Shrupnakha. Nashik in sanskrit means Nose, thus the place got this name.    Near the place where the nose of Shrupnakha was cut is also a centures old tree where Lakshman ji perfromed tapasya,

The place where temple is located is known as tapovan.
